For US Citizens
There is no visa required for U.S. citizens traveling for business or tourist purposes for a maximum stay of 90 days. A valid US Passport (must be valid 2 months beyond intended stay) is required.
If you intend to stay longer than 90 days, you should apply for long-term stay visa.
Long-term visa (D type) is issued as multiple entry visa for the period of 90 days.
During that period while in Ukraine the Applicant should apply to correspondent regional State Migration Service of Ukraine to obtain Permanent/Temporary Residence Card (proceeding from the visa obtained) which will allow staying and entering Ukraine without visa.
Requirements for Long Term Visa
Valid and signed U. S. Passport, valid for at least 3 months beyond the intended stay and must have at least two blank visa pages. Foreign Embassies cannot issue a visa on a page not labeled as a Visa page. Amendment and Endorsement pages in the back of the passport cannot be used for issuance of a visa.
