Uganda Visa

Original signed passport must be valid 6 months beyond the expected date of departure from Uganda and must have at least one blank visa page. Foreign Embassies cannot issue a visa on a page not labeled as a Visa page. Amendment and Endorsement pages in the back of the passport cannot be used for issuance of a visa.

Complete the application form online.  After you have registered on-line, the application is to be printed out, dated and signed twice, box 36 and under the statements at the very bottom. The application is required for each passport holder – answered completely.

International Certificate of Vaccination for Yellow Fever required.

Copy of your round trip airline tickets, or itinerary or e-ticket, or letter of confirmation from a travel agent. The itinerary must show the applicant’s name, date of arrival and departure from the country, and flight information.

Applicants making personal visits must provide a Letter of Invitation or Letter of Introduction from the person you are visiting in Uganda.

Applicants travelling on business must, in addition, provide:

• Business Letter from US organization ( click here for sample letter)  – the letter should be addressed to:
  Embassy of Uganda, Visa Section, New York, N.Y.
  The letter must explain all of the following:
  Nature of business to be performed
  Name and address of reference to be visited
  This letter should request Multiple Entries visa if required
  Guarantee of return transportation and sufficient funds for the visit
  The letter should be signed by an officer of the company other than the applicant.;
• Invitation Letter (Letter of Introduction) from the organization you will be visiting.

On March 31st 2014, The Governments of Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda announced the joint “East Africa Tourist Visa”.
This new visa category was created to help promote tourist travel to these three countries. If you are traveling too all three or any combination of these countries you can apply for one visa to be valid for all three.

The East Africa Tourist visa will be valid for 90 days and good for multiple entries into any combination of the three countries, however the visa is only valid if you stay within the region (African Continent) if you leave the region the visa is no longer valid for a return to any of the three countries. You must apply for another visa before returning to Uganda, Rwanda or Kenya.

If you wish to apply for this visa you must apply with the first country you are entering into. If your first country is Uganda follow the requirements listed under Tourist visa.

• Complete and Sign One Visa Application Form – please use this form for submission to the Embassy of Uganda in Washington DC.
• Diplomat Letter or Note – Letter from US Department of State, addressed to:
  Embassy of Uganda, Visa Section, Washington D. C.
  The letter should state all of the following:
  Applicant’s name and occupation
  Purpose of the trip
  Dates of the trip
  Contact person in Uganda
